top 5 brands similar to zara

top 5 brands similar to zara

I've recently come across (and re-discovered) some AMAZING smaller brands while perusing Instagram, and I thought I would share. This is my authentic opinion, and I am not sponsored (thought that was obvious; not Something Navy, but just in case) by these brands in any shape or form. All of these stores are not as well-known in the states as let's say, H&M or Zara. However, they give both a run for their money. Whoever their illustrious buyers are know exactly what they're doing and exactly who they're catering to.

1. Na-kd fashion - anywhere from $ to $$$
Think Nasty Gal in its fashion-forward prime (before its demise) mixed with a little bit of ASOS and Urban Outfitters. They sell edgy and trendy pieces without compromising basics. Pro: they ship worldwide via Lasership, so shipping is ridiculously fast for out-of-country. Return shipping is also easy and free, as they arrange a time for your package to be picked up.

2. Verge Girl - anywhere from $ to $$
An Australian gem. Why are the Australians so stylish and ridiculously attractive? It baffles me. If you don't believe me, just take a look at Elle Ferguson. Verge Girl sells the most mind-numbingly beautiful pieces. It's like someone entered my mind, assessed my mental pinterest board, and regurgitated everything onto an online store. They are extremely on-trend, and I can't help checking their website weekly for new arrivals. You have to physically talk yourself out of buying the whole store! Currently eyeing this top. Shipping is also via Lasership, and extremely fast! I am size AU 6 for reference - (typically a true 0/25, 2 (ASOS) or a 4 (H&M)).

Craving that Prada Cahier Bag? Those Chloe bow gunmetal wrap sandals? A Cartier watch? It might be worth to check out Vestiaire prior to taking the plunge. The authenticities of all of the pre-owned luxury items on Vestiaire have been meticulously verified. Pretty much all of the items are sold at a discounted price even though they are like-new and only very gently used.

4. Revice Denim - $$
You know how right now it's all about the ass? These jeans will make your bum look like a peach. They specialize in artisanal vintage silhouettes, flattering uber high-waisted cuts, and patchwork designs made in the softest denim—all $100 and under. They are currently running a 15% off storewide deal right now… so what are you doing? Go buy those flares of your dreams with the star on the booty that Kendall Jenner rocked last year.

5. Line by K - anywhere from $$ to $$$
This is Karla Deras' line. If you don't recognize the name, you probably recognize her eponymous blog, Karla's Closet. Line by K does not typically have new arrivals or sales, but when they do come, they pour. Every piece slays my entire life. Lately I'm loving her swimwear, from this knotted one-piece to this feminine ruffled set. Also, if I had legs for days, I would probably wear this off-white corduroy pant with everything.

Honorable Mentions
Style Addict - anywhere from $ to $$

Happy Shopping!

gingham vibes

gingham vibes

Super into gingham lately.  I've always been into gingham, but one can't deny that it's everywhere these days.  I can vibe with gingham anything... gingham sandals, gingham bikini, gingham romper... the list goes on and on.  Pair gingham with neutrals or vintage accessories, like a wicker bag or retro red plastic framed sunnies.  If you're feeling crazy, style gingham on gingham in two different shades!  Still can't wrap your head around the idea of looking like a picnic basket?  Go here.  The Reformation basically invented gingham print and they style the print effortlessly.  I've linked to some of my gingham favorites below.

man behind the pictures

man behind the pictures

It literally took 50 pictures for me to find two that I actually liked.  My poor boyfriend who patiently shoots through the "did you get it?"s and the "can we do another one?"s deserves a medal of some sort.  I have never met anyone so supportive and patient towards me in my whole lifetime, even more supportive than my parents have ever been.  He has an uncanny ability to interpret my successes and failures as his own and never fails to laugh (or cry) with me no matter the situation.  I am truly lucky to find someone like him, who loves me unconditionally and whom I can trust with every fiber of my being.

"gucci" vintage shirt and raye the label

"gucci" vintage shirt and raye the label

I've been meaning to sit down and write about topics that really interest me-- specifically religion and how it has fundamentally impacted my life (both negatively and somewhat positively), Donald Trump's narcissistic disorder (lol), the corporation's role in literally EVERYTHING, how introverts are underrated, and my journey through all sides of the political spectrum.  They are pretty heavy topics, but I hope to cover them all through this blog.  If I can just find the mental energy..........

Meanwhile, I am wearing a Verge Girl Top (sold out- but they restock ~every two weeks - check their Instagram) | Verge Girl Skirt (sold out) | Raye the Label Slides (below)

If you're feeling extra rich today, I've linked the designer alternatives below.
