random thoughts

You know as a kid you kind of sit there in confusion (was it admiration? awe?) wondering why your parents do the things that they do?  And increasingly, as I get older, I find myself doing the same things that my mom used to do.  For example, she used to eat kimchi with literally everything.  Ramen, rice, Indian dishes, hotdogs, spaghetti... and just the other day I caught myself doing the exact same thing.  I found myself mindlessly reaching for the jar of kimchi as I was eating pasta and meatballs...

Another thing that used to annoy the shit out of me.  She used to yell at me to clean my room even though in my mind, I had just cleaned it earlier that week and it looked spotless.  Funny because last week I found myself deliberately scrubbing the apartment down to its cellular level... essentially cleaning to a level of clean that I never thought possible.

I haven't seen my mom in years.  Mother's Day is just around the corner and my closest friends know of my strained relationship with my mom.  I'm guess I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and I just really miss her.

I am wearing a ZARA top | Vintage Levi's Shorts | Free People boots | Zara Bag | Quay x Desi Perkins 'Sahara' Sunnies (sold out - but definitely available on eBay)

  1. It is said that 'Girls takeover after their mother'and that is true.It is natural to do those things that your Mom used to do and the funny part is that you used to hate doing those things but now you find yourself doing the exact same thing!
